New Badger Bus Offer Weekend Service to Minneapolis!

This new service will start Friday, September 11, 2009

Badger Bus and Jefferson Lines have teamed up to offer service from the UW Madison Campus to Minneapolis on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. Departure from the Memorial Union at 800 Langdon Street will be at 230pm on those days and will arrive in downtown Minneapolis at 830pm. Stops along that route will be at UW La Crosse, Winona St University, Rochester, St Paul and the UM Coffman Union in Minneapolis.

Return service from Minneapolis Downtown will depart at 2pm and will also be on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays.

Online discount: Round trip fare from Madison to Minneapolis costs $76, $38 one way, can be purchased online. Purchase at the bus is $90 roundtrip, $45 one way. The full schedule of times and prices are available online as well http://www.badgerbusonline.com/ticketing/schedule.aspx

Last Call! Ride the Bus to Your Choice of 4 Friday Evening Performances at American Players Theater in Spring Green

Reduce your carbon footprint, relax and leave the driving to someone else! This summer, American Players Theatre will offer bus service from Madison to APT on 5 Friday evenings (June 26th is sold out!). Green Concierge Travel will assist American Players Theater by boarding theater goers in Madison. The bus will depart at 5:45 PM and arrive in time to picnic prior to the performance.

• Bus service is available for the following performances at the traditional outdoor theater Up The Hill: July 17th, July 31st, August 7th, and August 14th.

Bring your friends, your picnic and leave your car behind!

You can register to take the bus when ordering your tickets; Call American Players Theatre 1608.588.2361 pr visit their web site at http://www.playinthewoods.org/. Bus tickets need to be bought in advance as there is limited space. The bus departs from the UW Credit Union parking lot on University Ave at 5:45 PM. The cost? $12 per person round trip.

Winner of Amtrak Acela Poster Drawing!

On April 25th, Green Concierge Travel and over 3000 others attended the Isthmus Green Day festival at the Monona Terrace in Madison, WI. While the weather was not great outside, those that attended the event enjoyed great exhibits, businesses, demonstrations and good conversation. Green Concierge Travel focused on rail transportation providing Amtrak brochures and schedules and ideas on trips to take.

For this event, Green Concierge TravelÕs booth was decorated with posters of Amtrak Acela (east coast high speed service) trains and destinations. Michael W. from Madison was the winner of the Boston Acela poster Ð congratulations! Many thanks to all of you who stopped by and for your interest in greening transportation.

Over the spring, Green Concierge Travel worked with Stephanie Tudor, a University of Wisconsin graduate in Communication Arts and French, on a marketing project. Stephanie helped Green Concierge Travel with some displays used at Isthmus Green Day and future events. In addition, Stephanie put together a graphic introduction to green travel on DVD and a design for an event banner. Look for these on the internet and other events. Thank you for your help Stephanie!
