Your green travel stories needed by August 2010!

Green Concierge Travel needs your stories on how you travel with a smaller footprint - particularly transportation choices that you and your family or business have made.

In September, Green Concierge Travel will have the opportunity to talk with members and friends of The International Ecotourism Society in Portland, OR. The talk will present the ideas about Getting There, Getting Around. Your personal examples would be greatly appreciated.

Transportation is an important element of eco-itineraries for both business and leisure travelers. We need more concrete examples of how to travel with a smaller footprint.

American Players Theater Friday Night Bus Service is Back!

Reduce your carbon footprint, relax and leave the driving to someone else! American Players Theatre will once again offer bus service from Madison to APT for 5 Friday night performances. Green Concierge Travel has been asked to serve as “bus host” for 2010.

All five nights are timed for performances at the traditional outdoor theater Up The Hill: July 9th, July 16th, July 23rd, July 30th, and August 6th.

Bring your friends, your picnic and leave your car behind! You can register to take the bus when ordering your tickets; Call American Players Theatre 1608.588.2361 or visit their web site at http://www.playinthewoods.org/. Bus tickets need to be bought in advance as there is limited space. The bus departs from the back parking lot of the UW Credit Union on University Ave at 5:45 PM. The cost? $12 per person round trip.

Winners of Redwood Poster Drawings!

This spring, Green Concierge Travel attended two events promoting Walking in the Coastal Redwoods and our Green Concierge Travel services. On April 17th, Green Concierge Travel participated in Isthmus Green Day. Highlights from this year’s event was chef and activist Rick Bayless highlighting locally grown ingredients and flavorful Mexican cuisine. Congratulations to Mary Lawrence who won the drawing from this event!

The other event was Fitchburg’s first Green Expo on April 29th. The event was held at Promega’s campus. Congratulations to Dorothy Krause our winner from that event. Many thanks to all of you who stopped by and for your interest in green travel and the redwood walking tour.
