5.09 National Train Day. Liz Wessel, owner of Green Concierge Travel, submitted a Letter to the Editor of the Wisconsin State Journal. The letter was printed on National Train Day Saturday May 9th, page A8. The letter supports investment in a regional intercity rail system that would bring long term jobs and economic development to Wisconsin and the Midwest. Most interesting was hearing from the major hotel companies – Fairmont Raffles Hotels International, Starwood/Elements Hotels, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts and Wyndham Worldwide about how each of them were changing operations and hotel design to offer a greener product.
