Nova Scotia Rambles with BACKROADS
Explore Nova Scotia and the Bay of Fundy with a small group tour offered by BACKROADS. For five nights and six days you will experience the coastal life and food found in this northeast extension of Canada.

Nova Scotia extends northeast below New Brunswick and Maine. Historically a culture closed tied to the sea, your trip will explore coastal walks along with the food and heritage of its people. A variety of walks and excursions have been planned that will expose you to forests, coastal caves, man-made dykes, beaches and historic towns and villages. The Bay of Fundy itself is known for having the most extreme tides in North America.
This tour will include time in Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage site designated for its preservation of this 1800 seafaring town. You will stay in the Lunenburg Arms, a restored inn that has all the modern furnishings and services including a spa. The inn places you in the center of the historic Town and within walking distance
You will also visit Grand-Pré National Historic Site of Canada commemorates Grand-Pré area as a centre of Acadian settlement from 1682 to 1755. Acadians was the name give to French colonial settlers who settled in the a region stretching from Quebec to the Maritime states of Nove Scotia , New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Learn about the Deportation of the Acadians, which began in 1755 and continued until 1762. This forced exodus resulted in French settleing in Louisiana

Walks are moderate from 2.5 mile with the longest at 10 miles with little elevation change on any of the walks. The listed price for this tour is between $2298 to $2498 per person double occupancy depending on the departure date; Departure dates: July 10th, August 28th, and September 29th.
As the trip begins and ends in Halifax, travelers can either fly in or can use VIA Rail Canada to arrive and, or depart. The train departs from Montreal in the early evening arriving in Halifax the following evening just under twenty four hours later.
